Step 2 of your job switch: Apply

How to get noticed by recruiters on Naukri and LinkedIn

Fill the fields recruiters filter on, write a headline that matches their searches and stay active, so the calls come to you.

Recruiters search Naukri and LinkedIn every day, but they only call profiles that show up in their searches and look current. A few changes help you get noticed on Naukri and LinkedIn without applying to hundreds of jobs.

Fill in the fields recruiters filter on

Both platforms let recruiters filter by skills, experience, location, notice period and current salary. Empty fields mean you drop out of those searches.

  • Add every relevant skill, using the names job posts use
  • Keep your notice period accurate, including "serving notice" if you have resigned
  • Set preferred locations, including remote if you are open to it

Write a headline that says what you do

"Software Engineer at XYZ" tells a recruiter little. "Backend developer, PHP and Laravel, messaging APIs" matches the searches they actually run.

Stay active

Profiles that were updated recently tend to appear higher in recruiter searches. Small edits once a week, such as a new skill or project line, keep your profile fresh.

Apply with a short note

When you apply or message a recruiter, add two lines: the role, and one result from your experience that matches it. That is more than most applicants send.

Once calls start, move to step 3 and prepare for the question every interviewer asks: why are you leaving your current job?
